Euro Palestinian exchange (All Different-All Equal) Date: from 15/9/2008 till 30/9/2008

Description

1- We will pay 70 % of the ticket cost and not for the visa.

2- Food and accommodation will covered by us.

3- Participants should cover the 30% of the ticket.

4- Participants should pay the visa cost to Syria

5- Participants should pay one year of membership fee to Paz Ahora

As every year the work camp main idea will be to let the European volunteers have the chance to know and have a more near view about the Palestinian case and the Palestinian refugees. Through discussions and workshops the participants will exchange ideas, experiences and feelings. The work camp will contain Lectures and workshops about the democratic Palestine, Palestinian refugee’s situation and case, Palestinian case historical preview, Palestinian refugee in Syria, and Situation in the Middle East. It will contain also field visits to Palestinian magazine, Palestinian youth orgs, Palestinian children org (scout), Palestinian women orgs (Farah), and Palestinian camps near to Damascus. Some important films that were done by Palestinian directors will be viewed also during the work camp.

The volunteers will be asked to prepare a kind of magazine and write some reports about their impression and experience. A. Jafra: Jafra is a Syrian based youth group, interested in improving the society in which young Palestinians find refuge. It is a youth group based in Damascus. Yarmouk is the main Palestinian refugee camp. Jafra’s members are dedicated to the democratic development of society through the improvement of its community. Jafra organises activities for young people, varying in age. In addition, Jafra hold continual workshops such as photography workshops, theatre groups, painting workshops, cinema workshops, language courses, and a summer exchanging camps. i. 2007 Activities: As to this date in 2007, Jafra held numerous activities including frequent training courses such as English language courses, French language courses, photography workshops, theatrical workshops, cinema workshops, singing workshops and art workshops with exhibitions. Additionally, Jafra held an exchange in July with a Belgium based organisation, in August a European wide exchange, in September an exchange with an Italian based organisation, a children’s camp with assistance from some European volunteers in August, and a children’s club in July. Furthermore, Jafra holds social and cultural activities on regular bases such as musical shows, conferences and exhibitions.

Target group: 40 young participants from different European countries and Palestinian refugees from Syria. Partner Organizations: International initiatives for cooperation / Bulgaria Palestinian youth Organization PYO/ Lebanon Organizers: Jafra Palestinian youth center The Palestinian Syrian association for the right of return. Supported by the European Union.

Aims of the project:

1- Show the real picture about the Palestinian refugees and their situation in Syria and other countries. 2- Exchange experiences and ideas in politics and in the ways of life between the participants. 3- Exchange of cultures and try to demolish prejudice. 4-Promote dialogue between the participants 5-Strengthen the communication between the participant organizations and the volunteers. Methodology: Non-Informal education will be the main way to let the participants exchange their ideas and learn from each other. Sight visits will be organized to let the participants have the chance to see and live some moments that the Palestinian refugees are dealing with in daily life.

Evaluation: A mid term evaluation will be held with the participants in the middle of the activity and a final workshop for evaluation will be held at the end of the activity beside a written evaluation form.

Follow up: A mailing list and other summer camps and volunteers exchanges will be discussed during the activity.
